Research batata hai ki Kishtwar region mein zyaadatar earthquakes Panjal Thrust aur Kishtwar Window ke beech ki zone mein 8 se 12 kilometre ki depth par hote hain. Aur jab 2013 mein Kishtwar mein do bade earthquakes aaye тАФ Mw 5.7 (May) aur Mw 5.2 (August) тАФ toh scientists ne confirm kiya ki yeh activity directly in structures se related thi.
Iske alawa, scientists ne Kishtwar Window ke paas ek lateral ramp bhi identify kiya hai тАФ 7 se 13 km ki depth par тАФ jo earthquakes ki dip (jhukao) ko influence karta hai aur normal faults create karta hai jahan stress release hoti hai.
Warning: J&K Ab Zone VI Mein March 30, 2026 ko J&K government ne official taur par pura Jammu & Kashmir Seismic Zone VI declare kiya тАФ India ka highest risk category.
